PLOT
The planet has been reduced to a desert wasteland as a result of a global nuclear war that occurred sometime in the 1990s. As the strong prey on the weak, the last of humanity fights over what little food and clean water are still available. Hokuto Shinken, an ancient martial art of assassination that teaches its practitioners to kill from within an opponent's body by utilizing covert meridian points, is replaced by Kenshiro. Kenshiro wants to live a peaceful life, but after being torn apart from his fiancée Yuria by a jealous competitor, he embarks on a quest to save the post-apocalyptic world by protecting the helpless and defenseless from the numerous gangs and organizations that pose a threat to their survival. A teenage robber named Bat and an abandoned girl named Lin are two people Kenshiro encounters along the journey who join him as his traveling companions and provide eyewitnesses to Ken's numerous conflicts.
